What is AEGIS?
AEGIS Microbe Shield is a quat-silane-based, full-spectrum liquid antimicrobial suitable for use in various urethane cross-linked chemistries, including urethane foams, coatings, and Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) processes. The technology is an easy-to-process liquid formulation that can be pre-mixed into polyols and provides excellent antimicrobial activity in finished products and long-term stability and durability in polymer applications.

What are common applications for AEGIS technology?
AEGIS technology is suitable for integration into multiple products and surfaces, including apparel, footwear, sporting products, napkins, mattresses and more. AEGIS protects products commonly exposed to humid and moist environments from the growth of unsightly mold and mildew. It also controls the development of dust mites by destroying certain fungi necessary in the dust mite food chain.

AEGIS antimicrobial treatments have undergone extensive independent laboratory testing and have a long history of safe use. The biocidal active components of AEGIS are notified with the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) and registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

How does AEGIS work?
